PDT-GLY

PDT-GLY, a poly-alkylene glycol, is used in water-based drilling fluids to improve lubricity and shale stability. It is recommended for use in potassium- and sodium-based salt (2-15 percent by weight) systems in areas where highly reactive clays are anticipated.

PDT-GLY-GP

PDT-GLY-GP, a polyalkylene glycol, is used in water-based drilling fluids to improve lubricity and shale stability. It is recommended for use in potassium and sodium based salt (5-22 percent by weight) systems in areas where low to medium reactive clays are anticipated.

PDT-GLY2000

PDT-GLY2000, a blend of glycerol, polyglycerols and poly-glycols, is used in water-base drilling fluids to improve lubricity and shale stability. PDT-GLY2000 is not affected by contaminants commonly encountered.

PDT-DEFOAM-S can be used as an effective defoamer in most water-based drilling fluids and brine-based systems such as potassium chloride.

PDT-PHPA

PDT-PHPA, partially hydrolysed polyacrylamide/polyacrylate (PHPA) copolymer emulsion, is used to stabilize reactive clay and shale formations. PDT-PHPA acts as a shale stabilizer by adsorbing onto cuttings and clays on the borehole wall, preventing dispersion. Because of its high molecular weight, PDT-PHPA quickly viscosifies with increased concentrations. PDT-PHPA is readily soluble in fresh, brackish, or salt waters, and it can be used to prepare solids-free drilling fluids.

  • Stable in monovalent salt (NaCl, KCl, etc.) environments

  • Can be destroyed with oxidizing agents when desired

PDT-ASPHASOL

PDT-ASPHASOL, sulfonated asphalt, is partially soluble in water and oil. PDT-ASPHASOL is used in water-based muds as a shale stabilizer, cuttings dispersion inhibitor, torque reducer, and high temperature fluid loss additive. PDT-ASPHASOL coats the shales and cuttings which lowers dispersion and/or aggregation. The combination of water and oil solubility permit PDT-ASPHASOL to be an effective oil-in-water emulsifier.
